Understanding God’s Purpose for His Creations

 

Hello and welcome!

I’m Hank Van Joslin—a lifelong snake collector, breeder, and ambassador for these often misunderstood creatures.

Since childhood, I’ve been fascinated by reptiles and amphibians, especially snakes. Decades later, that fascination has only deepened. Yet I still meet so many people—children and adults alike—who fear snakes, dislike them, or even believe they are inherently dangerous. My mission has always been to change that perception.

Through countless talks, demonstrations, and personal encounters, I’ve shared the truth:

  • Most snakes are not venomous.

  • None are naturally aggressive.

  • And many make wonderful, gentle, and surprisingly fun pets.

Snakes, like all of God’s creations, have a purpose. And this blog is where I hope to help others discover that purpose, appreciate these animals, and maybe even learn to love them.

One of the ways I’ll share these lessons—especially with young learners—is through my new children’s book series, Exploring God’s Purpose for His Creations.

Our journey begins with Book 1: Drakfee the Friendly Snake Gets a Glad Heart, introducing a gentle snake who helps children understand kindness, purpose, and the joy of God’s design.

Knowledge awakens understanding.

Understanding deepens appreciation.

And from appreciation, love takes root.
